So instead of a tipi, I decided to have a fitness center in the backyard. Home Depot has some nice sheds that could be turned into a little fitness center or we could build one ourselves. I figure if I can't go to the gym then I should bring the gym to me! _________________ Christianity is the belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who is his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in all humanity because a rib-woman was convinced to eat from a magical tree by an infinitely sadistic being disguised as a talking snake with legs. ~ George Carlin |

Good idea. And heck, if Erik can have a dobservatory then you should have a gym. _________________ Tom (Pegster) |

You guys aren't helping matters.
Once the dobservatory is finished, I'm going to help Kate with this project. ...of course, that might mean adding an attached game room and designated football TV... _________________ -Erik Wilcox

I Recently joined a fitness center called "Snap". It's a nationwide chain of 24 hour centers. It has all the Cybex machines including a virtual rowing machine as well as cranking machines and a heavy weight area. It has a full time massage therapist as well as tanning booths. I go there each day and use the machines in a light weight mode. I also spend about 20 minutes on the recumbent bike at 11 MPH. I really like the staff and it's so convenient as it's only a half mile from my door. It's like having my own big league gym 3 minutes away! No need for me to build my own home gym. Less than $39/mo. if you pay for a full year up front.
It will be good for my myeloma and kidney disease problems. _________________ A mild mannered amateur astronomer, who disguised as Yoda, fights a never ending battle for truth, justice and the American way!

Good for you, Remy!
I started exercising at home 2 months ago. I've slowly been increasing the amount.
I have a lot more energy. I'm starting to feel my old strength coming back. I'm transferring weight from my abdomen to my chest, arms and shoulders. My pants are fitting better and I'm using holes in my belt that haven't been used for years. And I've been hiking a lot more to help with the cardio.
It feels good. _________________ Tom (Pegster) |

Great work, guys!
We hiked a lot the last couple of days in Oahu. I'm definitely feeling the effects. I need to hike more than the once a week we've been doing. Walking the dog a couple of blocks doesn't cut it. _________________ -Erik Wilcox
